Oh yes. I’m feeling a bit ranty this week, which would explain the frequent blogging, I suppose. I’ve penned similar posts in the past. Hell, you have probably blogged about this too. I think nearly every self-published author has. Well, it’s time to say it again:

I am self-published and I am a REAL author. 

There are some folks out there who will tell us self-publishing isn’t legit because we bypassed the gatekeepers (agents and big publishers), but I didn’t write my books for agents and publishers – I wrote them for readers. While agents and publishers might not respond to a query letter, leaving you to wonder if they hated the idea of your book, or if they just never got your email, the readers are not shy about telling you what they think when they review your book. Fat Girl Begone Button 300 x 225So, this morning, I’m not surprised when the guest author shows up at my doorstep. Yes, this time she was expected. I’m all ready to whisk her away to destination unknown (her choice) and conduct an interview, but instead, she shows my her guest blog.

“But, I had an interview all ready for you. We’ll sit on the beach or at a bistro or on top of a tall mountain-”

“Please!” she drawls. “I’m am not going up any mountain, least not today.”

“But-”

And, you know what happens next. Yep, I’m nudged aside and she sits at my new laptop and, well, no mountain top for me today.

Who: This is for independent authors as well as small press publishing houses and their authors.

What: This is a place to get your book on a physical bookshelf in a display window in our local mall as well as on the website with links to their amazon and Barnes and Noble links below them.

When: you can contact us at any time and get your books into the stores!

Where: The books would be in a display window in our local mall where there are no book stores in town. The display window will be changed every couple of weeks to keep with the holiday themes and keep it fresh and eye catching. There is signage in the window directing them to the web page where the books are sorted into genres.

Why: This is a new way to capture the best of both a physical brick and mortar space along with the internet.

How Much: This is the last but most important question. It’s $5.00 a month for one to ten books, if you have more the price goes up. 11 to 20 books would be $10.00 a month and so forth.

The website is www.IowaBookSource.com where you can see your books. Pictures will be taken when the decorations are changed and posted on Facebook as well as a few other sites.

The Supervillainy series by C.T. Phipps has been a guilty pleasure of mine for a few years now. Not only has Gary Karkofsky’s antics as an accidentally successful supervillain just been an absolute pleasure to read, but the world environment, the unexpected twists, and the tongue-in-cheek references to pop-culture makes for an exciting and entertaining read.
The newest arrival to that series, The Science of Supervillainy, hits all of those notes in spades.
This book picks up directly where the last book left off. The Other Gary and President Omega are about to pull off their plan, but Gary and crew take care of it pretty quickly, until they don’t. A Little Bout A Lotta Things 


My blogs to date have covered a variety of topics.  This shall continue to be my style as I am a multi dimensional person as are my readers.

img_4228My third published book is entitled ‘My heart is broken. A journey of loss, hope and grief.’ Many of us have experienced the loss of a loved one. Understanding and accepting our common experience I will share the introduction of my book laying the groundwork for the writings that will follow.

Dear fellow sojourner,

I understand that I do not have the market on grief due to the loss of a loved one. After futile attempts to cope with my sorrow I started putting my feelings on paper making my grief visible. It allowed me to bear my pain, my broken heart and a soul that is often times empty.
